Ramón Jara Araya
Ramón Jara Araya (Santiago, Chile, 1953), joined the firm in 1970 and as partner in 1976. Since 2004 is a consultant of the firm.
Specialized in commercial law, foreign investment, project structuring and financing, mining law and public affairs, has been counsel in major transactions such as the structuring and financing of several big mining projects.
Currently, he is a director in several corporations, in particular Antofagasta Minerals S.A., Antofagasta PLC, Antofagasta Railways PLC, Ferrocarril Andina S.A. (Bolivia), Aguas de Antofagasta S.A., Empresa Nacional de Petróleos S.A. (ENAP) and Antofagasta Terminal Internacional S.A., to name a few.
He is president of the Minera Los Pelambres Foundation, director of the Andrónico Luksic Foundation, member of the Advisory Board of the Center of Public Studies (CEP) and counsel of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.
He was Vice-President of the National Mining Society (SONAMI) from 2004 to 2010.
Ramón Jara is member of the Chilean Bar Association and arbitrator in the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.
