Manuel Bernet Páez

Manuel Bernet Páez was born in Viña del Mar Chile, in 1975. He joined the firm in 2006 and he works in the areas of commercial law, antitrust competition, unfair competition, regulated markets and also administrative litigation.

He counsels clients from different areas of business, especially related to regulatory market of pharmaceutical laboratories, food market, agricultural and livestock services, biotechnology and gambling industry, acting also as a permanent counsel to national and international companies. Further, he acts as counselor for consultations and procedures of antitrust competition, unfair competition, administrative proceedings and transparency law.

In 2002, he obtained a Master Degree in Private Law at the “Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid” (Spain), in 2002, he completed a Postgrad Diploma in Industrial Property, at University of Buenos Aires Law School (Argentina), in 2008, he received his LL.M degree in Private Law at Universidad de Los Andes, and since he is PhD in law from Universidad de Los Andes.

Since 2013, he is a member of the arbitration body of the Center for Dispute Resolution regarding dominio.cl names, and he is as well, professor of Business Law and Unfair Competition at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and Universidad de los Andes.

He is member of the Chilean Bar Association, of the Center for Resolution of Controversies in the “.cl” domaine, and of the Subcommission of “Consumer Protection and Unfair Competition”, for the Commission to study a new commercial code, depending of the Universidad de Chile.
