Gabriel Del Favero Valdés

Gabriel Del Favero Valdés (Santiago, Chile, in 1952), joined the firm in 1973 and as partner in 1976.

Specialized in civil law, commercial law, corporate and contract law, environmental and natural resources law and international and national project finance.

Former legal counsel to the Chilean House of Representatives, senior in-house counsel to mining companies and bank subsidiaries for electronic transfer of funds and information, external counsel and advisor to numerous private enterprises and public institutions, and advisor for environment regulations, forestry resources, water resources, forestry, environmental impact assessment and regulations and contracts for electronic exchange of funds and information (pensions, health insurance, e-invoicing, customs regulations, e-payment system, private contracts and legal regulation of e-documents).

Former professor of Introduction to the Law at Universidad Diego Portales and Environmental Law in the Master in Mining and Water Law Program of the Universidad de Atacama and former associate researcher for the Center of Public Studies. Speaker at national and international conferences and author of publications on environmental and e-commerce matters.

He was former president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Chile (2003-2004) and of Eurochambers (2003).

He is member of the Chilean Bar Association and member of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce.

Since 2018, is member of the ICC Task Force on Arbitration of Climate Change Related Disputes, international group created to study the arbitration related with energy and environmental matters.
