On July 5, 2024, Exempt Resolution No. 1706, 2024, from the Ministry of Mining, was published in the Official Gazette, subjecting the proposal for a new Regulation governing the design, construction, and operation of tailings storage projects to public consultation. 3. Setting rules for projects that include the extraction of tailings from existing tailings deposits; and,
  4. Establishing clear requirements that provide users with tools to present better tailings projects.

The public consultation period is 25 business days, from July 8 to August 12, 2024.
